Breeding Objectives
We have built a farming system that is simple, low cost & efficient. The aim is to breed cattle that suit that system and as a result allow the herd to be profitable. It’s important to allow the system to filter out the cattle that suit the system, rather than adapting the system to suit the cattle.
We aim to breed genuine, robust cattle that are a pleasure to manage on a day to day basis requiring minimal intervention.
Focus on the mob - no superstars. Building a highly effective mob is the best route to a profitable business, rather than overfocusing on individuals.

Focus on traits that reduce cost - mothering ability, fertility, fleshing ability, ease of calving, maternal efficiency & longevity.
