Meikle Maldron is a tenanted upland stock farm near Torphins in Aberdeenshire. It sits at the foot of the Hill of Fare and lies between 600-1000ft with a rainfall of around 730mm. It’s shallow, sandy, free draining soils make outwintering stock a great option, however a dry summer can see the block dry up. We regularly get large amounts of snow during winter. It is Grade 4, LFA land that we see as being ideally suited to keeping suckler cows. The majority of the cow herd are situated here.

Upper Ingliston is a lower ground farm that has been in the Morrison family for 4 generations. It rises to 450ft and is grade 3(2), with some sandy loam & heavier clay type soils too. We tend to use it for finishing/growing stock and we outwinter youngstock here too due to the slightly kinder climate.
